Student Paper Presentations

Undergraduate & Graduate

Application open

NYSDEA is excited to continue to include opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to present their scholarly work in 30-minute sessions at the NYSDEA Annual Conference.  These paper presentations are specifically designed for students to present research and projects in a classroom style setting.  NHSDA members will be given priority consideration. 

IMPORTANT DATES

  • May 11, 2026: application opens

  • Aug 31, 2026: application closes at 11:59 pm

  • Sept 30, 2026: presenter confirmation of participation deadline

  • Nov 2, 2026: signed contracts due

Guidelines

  • Research must be completed by December 11, 2026 to be considered.

  • Work that is expected to take place over the course of several phases will be considered, but must come to an appropriate stopping point by December 11, 2026.

  • Only 1 submission per author is allowed.

  • Co-Presenters are allowed.

  • Sessions are 30-minutes in length including questions.

  • Research and projects that interdisciplinary in nature are welcome to apply.

  • It is expected that a department/institutional faculty member or affiliated guest artist played an advisory role during the development of the work.

  • Students must have followed proper ethical processes and procedures for conducting research, as set out by their institution.

  • If the research involves human subjects, the student must have received approval by their institution for the project and been provided with written consent.

  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Materials

  • Lead Presenter: full name and email address

  • Co-Presenter(s): full name and individual emails

  • Faculty Advisor: name and email address

  • Presenter(s) Bio: maximum of 1350 characters including spaces each

  • Presenter(s) Headshots: HEADSHOTS ONLY.  Please no action photos.  For marketing purposes, .jpeg or .jpg formatting only

  • Presenter(s) Instagram

  • Title of Presentation: maximum of 50 characters including spaces

  • Abstract of Scholarly Work: maximum of 1700 characters including spaces

  • Session Description: maximum of 2000 characters including spaces
